NOTICE OF RACE
Organising Authority The Regatta is organised by the Phuket King’s Cup Regatta Organising Committee under Royal Patronage, under the auspices of the Yacht Racing Association of Thailand and the Royal Varuna Yacht Club, in conjunction with the Royal Thai Navy, the Provincial Authority of Phuket and the Phuket Yacht Club Association.
Classes The Regatta will be sailed in ten classes: Racing, Premier Cruising, 3 Cruising Classes, Live-aboard Class, Classic, Ocean Multihull, Sports Boats and Beach Cats. Sunsail also run fleet prizes for overall positions within the Sunsail Fleet.
Handicapping Racing, Ocean Cruising, and Cruising classes will use the IRC 2000 handicap system. Classic wil use Thai-cap, OceanMultihull classes will use the Queensland IOR System. Sports Boats will use RYA/RORC SBR Rule
Spinnakers and Extra Sails Any competitor providing their own sails must supply the measurements to Sunsail prior to entry. Otherwise a re-measurement fee will be charged.
Principal Venues This year the regatta will take place in the waters around Phuket
Closing Date The closing date for all entries 30 days before start of race All entries should be made through the Sunsail Thailand Office by this date. Your local Sunsail Office/Agent can organise this for you.
Entry to official function charges and IRC relvalidation are to be paid locally
NOT INCLUDED IN RACE ENTRY PACKAGE:- Flights (unless flight inclusive rate used from brochure) Taxi transfers (unless flight inclusive rate used from brochure) Local cruising taxes Mooring fees Departure taxes Provisioning & beverages Delivery charges to/from race locations (if required payable locally)
Special Information Hotel accomodation packages are available for the regatta. Please contact the Thailand base directly for package details. If you wish to stay in a Hotel please contact the base to arrange for a Staff member to stay onboard There may be a service charge to cover expenses.
